Benny V

Dance Concept founder Benny V was trained at one of London’s top Stage Schools and was musically influenced from a young age by his father, a performer in live bands playing gigs regularly around London the UK and abroad. After various television work including roles in The Bill and Grange Hill in his youth he also started DJing professionally at the age of 16 at Lea Valley Ice Rink in East London while beginning to play on pirate radio around the same time. His first Drum & Bass residency was at the long running Labyrinth. After helping set up Breakin Science his influence could be noticed, having a residency for the first year of the event as well as appearing in the main rooms for most of the major Drum & Bass events in the UK and abroad. He, along with Dfrnt Lvls, was the brainchild of the Stevie Hyper D projects and has worked on material for the Dance Concept label since its inception. His influence could also be felt with the ‘progressive’ Drum & Bass and Dub Step night, Eat the Beat, which he and Ryan ‘R Type’ of Best of British fame, formed to cater for a different underground market. Benny V has also enjoyed commercial DJ’ing success holding a residency at one of Londons largest clubs, The Venue in South London as well as playing at prestigious party’s in Essex and Londons West End.
